MTC
Leekes have trained all our fitters and surveyors to be MTC qualified. Minimum Technical Competencies (MTCs) are now a mandatory requirement for Installers and Surveyors working in the Glass and Glazing sector within the domestic market for England and Wales. They were introduced to the Fenestration industry in September 2012 by the Department for Communities & Local Governments (DCLG).
Installers and Surveyors registered with a glazing Competent Person’s Scheme (CPS) such as FENSA, must demonstrate certain experience, knowledge and competence within their field in order to continue working under their CP Scheme and self-certifying their work. MTCs refer to individual competence. All surveyors and individuals who work alone carrying out domestic glass or glazing installations must prove MTC compliance under the new regulations. For those installers who always work on-site as part of a team, at least 1 member of that team must be MTC compliant.

BFRC – British Fenestration Ratings Council
The BFRC is the premier UK authority for independently verified ratings of energy efficient windows and energy efficient doors. Launched in March 2004, the Window Energy Rating ‘rainbow’ label is similar to that used on many white goods in our homes. BFRC rated energy efficient windows and doors are scored on a scale of A – G, with an A rated building product being more energy efficient than one which is G rated. This allows individuals to quickly and easily choose the windows most suitable for their needs. Leekes only use A-Rated products that comply with the BFRC.
